Default Change Number Formatting in System Directory

We want to add Nextel Direct Connect numbers to the Shoretel Directory - not to call, but just as a reference - and the Shoretel Director only allows numbers to be entered in the +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx format. Is there a way to change that just for the PAGER field or can we create a new field that will accept any kind of text or number characters we enter into it? We use the PAGER field in Groupwise.

The Nextel radios follow a format of FleetNumber*UrbanID*RadioNumber. For instance, my full Nextel radio number is 122*23*56312. We also have Nextels we took over from another company and their full numbers are 12955*25*xxxxx where; xxxxx is the 1 to 5-digit radio number.

Thanks for your help.

Default Not in the System Directory

You can try adding it to the system directory as a TEXT field, but the only place you can do this is in OUTLOOK or in the NAME field of the System Directory. (Add it to the last name). It is a real annoyance, but that seems to be the only solution currently.

Thanks for the suggestion. We tried putting the Nextel number in the LastName field, but the Big Boss did not like the way it displayed on the phones and Call Manager. Why would the Call Manager have fields for DEPARTMENT and COMPANY and not allow administrators to edit them through the Shoreware Director??? (just a rhetorical question).
