Default More on Caller ID issues on analog lines

We do not have Caller ID on our Analog lines for incoming calls. The phone company swears that it is there, the vendor says it is not? Anybody got an idea?

Default Re: More on Caller ID issues on analog lines

CID is sent by the phone company as FSK (modem tone) between the audible and silent portion of a ring cycle. So if you answer the line before the FSK tones are set you will NOT get the CID. You may have to wait 2 rings to get one silent portion. Having said that, make sure that no custom dial rules were added to the trunk group. Some people want ShoreTel to answer on the first ring and ad the ;1l custom dialing rule. This will gurantee you never see CID on the analog lines in this trunk group!
