Default Caller IDs

Our shoretel system was originally set up with 8 lines. However two of these lines are showing the wrong caller ID when we place a call using one of these two lines. We contacted AT&T to confirm that the all 8 phone lines are properly associated with our company name. AT&T assured us that everything on their end was properly set up.

Then we started looking into our Shoretel VOIP set up. We found that in Shoreware Director these two lines were not accurate in our trunk area but were actually both a digit off. This did not appear to be a coincidence as these were the 2 lines displaying the wrong caller ID.

Unfortunately changing the phone numbers in the trunk area to correct numbers did not resolve the issue. However we did NOTrestart the server.

It is odd that the 2 numbers in question had the wrong numbers set up in our Shoretel system. Could there have been an error when setting up these two lines with our Shoretel system? If so what are the steps to re-correct the issue? Do we need to restart the server after I altered the numbers in the trunk area or is there another area to check?

Any thoughts or starting places would be greatly appreciated!

Default Re: Caller IDs

As it relates to Caller ID on Analog lines; there is nothing that the ShoreTel can do to generate CID. This is entirely set by the phone company. I have seen many situations in which the CID for each line is different and may or may not even be your company name! You have to ask the phone company to send your main BTN for each analog line. Changing the designation in the ShoreTel analog line definition has nothing to do with it! This is a pure telco play!
